Baba Lebanese Street Food

Street food photography, up close

For Baba, chef Hany Harb’s new take on Lebanese street food, I shot the food photography for a brand launch series, in vibrant, saturated colour. The set covers falafel, sambousek, kibbeh, baklava, salads and dips, all of it food made to be picked up and eaten on the move.

I led the art direction and pushed it bold and graphic. Each dish sits against a flat peach or green under hard shadows, so the golden food is the loudest thing in the frame, and the set plays with that: falafel and sambousek repeat in rows, a falafel tumbles out of its paper wrap, and in several frames hands hold, dip or break the food.
