Amami Food Bar

Dishes made to move

Amami Food Bar, at the University of Malta’s Campus Hub, runs its menu on screens, with looping TV displays in store, in the way the big food brands do it. I shot the food photography for exactly that, covering sushi, poke bowls, noodles, bao buns and a prawn and mango salad. The result is a set of eight moving loops, all in portrait format, and the whole shoot was planned TV first.

Every element was photographed separately, from the dishes to the ingredients and the sauces, so each piece could be composed on its own and then set in motion. Everything after the shoot was handled by my studio, from assembling the elements in post-production through design and animation to the final files.
